The Aigburth patch

L17 runs along the Aigburth Road corridor from the Sefton Park edge down to the Mersey at Grassendale and Cressington. The housing stock is largely late-Victorian and Edwardian — substantial semis and some impressive detacheds, many with original features, high ceilings, and the sort of wide staircases that look generous until you're turning a corner sofa on the first-floor landing. The riverside streets at Grassendale and Cressington Parks are Conservation Area properties — character, history, and occasionally tricky parking. Moves here take time to do properly, and that's fine with Leigh.

• Aigburth Road itself is busy; loading bays and double-yellows are common — early starts and a clear plan for the van mean no wasted time or tickets.
• Grassendale and Cressington Park: private estate roads with restricted access at certain times; worth a quick call to the estate management before the move date.
• Sefton Park-side streets are leafy and wide but can fill up fast on sunny weekends — Leigh times it to avoid the park crowds where possible.
• Many properties have basement levels or lower-ground floors: extra carrying but nothing the team hasn't handled many times.
